Welcome to the ASCLS-North Carolina website. Originally named the North Carolina Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (NCSCLS), our new name and new logo honors the legacy of hundreds of laboratory professionals who have worked in our state, while looking into the future of the medical laboratory.

We hope you will find community with us.

OUR VISION

Our society looks to embody excellence in laboratory medicine in the great State of North Carolina by enhancing the expertise of its medical laboratory professionals who provide high-quality clinical services to prevent, diagnose, monitor, and treat disease—ultimately improving health outcomes for patients and communities.

OUR MISSION

As a collective of medical laboratory professionals working for and in the North Carolina, we seek to:

  • empower the laboratory workforce to independently lead and shape the future of our profession.

  • advocate that a diverse and competent clinical laboratory workforce as essential to delivering equitable healthcare.

  • support universal access to quality clinical laboratory services as a cornerstone of health and wellness for all patients and communities.

  • foster a diverse and inclusive professional community to address historical marginalization, cultivate belonging, and strengthen advocacy and knowledge.

  • promote lifelong learning and scholarly engagement to keep pace with the ever-evolving body of knowledge in laboratory medicine.
