2026 Lab Week Run

Invitation to Lab Week Run Events 2026

ASCLS-NC invites you to come out and join us to participate in the ASCLS Lab Week Run 5K in person at various locations across NC!

What better way to connect with fellow ASCLS members and other medical laboratory professionals in your community and state than a brisk 5K walk with proceeds going towards scholarships for medical laboratory students.

Location, date and time of the various meet-ups are listed below.

  • CANCELLED, sorry folks but our volunteers for the Durham event have become unavailable. You can still do the route on your own if you like (see map below): Durham, NC - Sun, 4/19/26 at C.M. Herndon Park, from 9AM - 1PM. We will be located under the shelter on the right hand side of the park. Light snacks and water will be available, public bathrooms are available on site.
  • UPDATE: Chapel Hill, NC - Sat, 4/25/26 at 321 S. Columbia St, from 9AM-11AM. We will meet in front of Bondurant Hall and run/jog/walk around UNC’s campus. Light snacks and water will be provided
    • Where should I park? The Bell Tower Parking Deck is open on weekends and available for parking. Walking directions from the Bell Tower Parking Deck to Bondurant Hall. Please note, the directions start at the pedestrian bridge, which is accessible from the 4th floor of the parking deck.
    • Where do I check in? Check‑in will take place at a pop‑up tent in front of Bondurant Hall.
    • What time should I arrive? Check‑in: 8:30–8:55 AM 5K start time: 9:00 AM Please plan to arrive early enough to allow time for parking and check‑in. At check‑in, you will receive your race bib.
    • Restrooms: Available inside Bondurant Hall via badge access. Please see someone at the check-in tent if you need assistance.
    • Can I leave my belongings somewhere? Yes. You may leave personal items at the check‑in tent. Someone will be present at the tent throughout the entire 5K
    • Where can I view the 5K route map? You can view the full route here. Printed maps and turn-by-turn directions will be available at check-in.
    • Will there be a hydration station? Yes. A water table will be set up in front of the Bell Tower, approximately at the halfway point of the route.
    • Are restrooms available along the route? Yes. At the halfway point, restrooms are available in the Student Union and Student Stores.
    • Will refreshments be available afterward? Yes! Drinks and snacks will be available in front of Bondurant Hall once you finish the 5K.
    • Is there a finisher award? Yes! At the finish, you will receive your Lab Week Run medal.
